Importing .3ds or .dxf model and trimming it

A Geometry this cultural church designed by the architects Westad & Brusletto, Norway, can be handled by Odeon. However it becomes difficult to navigate in such a complicated model (assigning sources, materials, changing the geometry etc.). Also calculation time will be rather high. The following demo shows how to clip or trim the model in Odeon version 10.01.

The model was supplied in the .3ds format which can be exported from AutoCAD using the 3DSOUT command. Using the .3ds format rather than the .dxf format ensures that solids are converted into PolyFace surfaces and that blocks are exploded.
